“The concept of portraying evil and then destroying it - I know this is considered mainstream, but I think it is rotten. This idea that whenever something evil happens someone particular can be blamed and punished for it, in life and in politics, is hopeless.” - Hayao Miyazaki

This is amazing, and I love the quote too. The villains in Miyazaki’s films are never truly what they seem. I love that. I wonder though, since this idea of good vs. evil is common in Disney and Pixar films, it is quite possible to admire those films and Miyazaki’s, yes? But true, it’s a brilliant philosophy and I love him for it.
